The Formula 850 – with the engine of a Coupe
Fiat 850 – realized in 1966 allowed a lot of small
constructors to express their talent at a reduced cost
regarding those for Formula 3.
In 1967, the Italian Trofeo Formula 850 appeared
– Lucio and Gino De Sanctis from Roma, made the
most performing single seater and allowed to pilots
such as Francisci, Gallo or Pica to win several prices.
The sample we present here is the number 001, made
in 1967, as described in the book of Alberto Ras-
trelli (Page 106, offered with the car). The car has
participated to numerous races up to 1984. The same
year, the formula 850 has been replaced by the For-
mula Fiat Uno. Then, this chassis received the new
motor of 903cm3 to continue to drive.
She received a new homologation under the brand
“bid” ( for Bruscolotti De Sanctis), chassis 001 and
piloted by Antonello Macellari she won on Valle-
lunga and Magione tracks.
This single seater is still in a perfect state and was
completely serviced in 2014. She regularly partici-
pates to several shows such as Grand Prix of Bari
2015, for example.
