Estimation : 80.000 - 100.000 €
The disappearance of the catalogue of
the Dino 246 GT in 1974 created a
slight hole in the Ferrari range that the
Dino 308 GT4 couldn’t really fill. The
new Berlinette Ferrari, called 308
("30" for 3.0 liters of displacement
and "8" for 8 cylinders), was propelled
into the spotlight of the boom to the ap-
pointment when unavoidable to Paris in
1975. Destiny perhaps, but this official
presentation coincided with the brand
new Formula1 World Championship
title acquired that year by Niki Lauda
with the Ferrari 312 T.
The new Berlinette Ferrari was directly
derived from the Dino 308 GT4. It re-
claimed the chassis with a wheelbase reduced by 21cm with
the same engine; V8 3 litres with 255 HP… The great
upheaval compared to the 308 GT4 was obviously the return
of Pininfarina producing one of the most emblematic designs
for Ferrari, with a line based very clearly from the 512 BB
and Dino 246 GT. Very compact, low and tapered, the 308
GTB immediately seduced all fans of the brand of the
"prancing horse” amongst others.
Our model represents the most desirable configuration (out
version to bodywork polyester / vetroresina ): in addition to
the typical Rosso Corsa colour scheme of Magnolia leather,
it is a rare Berlinette GTB and not an easily found GTS.
Less sporty and equipped with the most powerful carburettor
engines, but also and especially in the dry carter which evokes
the competition and the commitments in group 4!
