From an aesthetic point of view the 230 SL has the heavy task of succeeding the magnificent 190 SL.
The challenge was the enormous but Paul Bracq managed with talent and brio. Going against the
grain of the curved style of previous models, the French designer surprised more than a few. The
line of the Pagoda remains an original creation, unique in its difference.
Presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1963, the 230 SL Pagoda can reach close to 200
km/h and slams the 0 to 100 km/h in 11 seconds. In its category, these performances are at the
same level as the best European times of the era. .
Our example has remained in the hands of the Its first owner up until last year which gives it a
truly unique history.
